Weigh-in (a day late)
So, I didn't weigh in last week because I had a bad week and I didn't want the scale to bring me down. Myself and I had a talk after that and I realized that I was not going to stick to this weight loss journey if I didn't get back to the gym. The gym is great motivation for me and it really helps me focus and is great stress relief. The only thing is TIME. My time is super limited with work, grad school, dinner, bedtime etc. I decided though that it was worth it to add another thing to my plate because I really need to keep going and getting healthier. Madison loves the gym play room and there was a day I didn't really want to go because it had been a long day, but she was upset when I said we weren't going so I went anyway.... guess she is going to be extra motivation too ;) I have been to the gym every day and even on the weekends except for today. I think I have decided that Sundays (unless I do Zumba) and Wednesdays are going to be my rest days. This gives me a little break during the week and on on the weekend.
This week's weight loss was good, but I'm still stuck on that low 240's and am SO ready to break into the 230's... hopefully next week... no, forget hopefully, i WILL be in the 230's next week ;)
2/5/13: 241.2lbs.

1DAY@ATIME
Here we go... AGAIN... but I guess that doesn't matter... as long as I keep trying...
My starting weight (from the unabandoned holiday eating) shot back up to 249.4! Holy crap. I posted a long status on Facebook last Tuesday announcing that I was on the road again and I got so much love and support! Not that I'm surprised ;) I had to post because I need something to hold me accountable and posting my weight change pictures really helped with that last time.
My weigh in days are going to be Mondays. So first weigh-in: 243.4! -6lbs! :) I know a lot of that is water intake and getting rid of all the "junk weight", but it is a great start!
Starting: 249.4
Loss/Gain: -6.0
Today: 243.4
Goal for next week: Under 240!
*I find that giving myself weekly goals helps a lot! :) On to another week!!

1st weigh-in
Monday weigh-in: 241.4
Not to shabby. ;) I actually feel good about this especially with all the treats that have been offered at work this week! The holidays at an elementary school can be a killer! I've done pretty good at avoiding them, but not perfect...
I haven't gotten back into doing my workout dvd's yet, but with all the walking I do in a day I know that I'm atleast getting in some exercise... I'm going to try and get back to the dvd's next week and hoping to get a gym membership in January... slowly but surely I'm going to get back to me.. I'm refusing to settle.

Let's try this again...
So, I attempted to start a couple months ago, but could never really get it together... I was still trying to get my life in order with my new place, juggling two kids, my internship and fulltime grad school. It is the end of the semester now and, even though it is the holidays, I believe it is a good time to start getting on this journey.. for real. I also finally have internet so it's easier for me to hold myself accountable by posting on here! So, here I go again...

The beginning
So I'm posting this pic that Madie took with my phone, lol. It's awful, but she took it two days before I got back on my journey so it's an accurate picture of where I'm starting at, just for the record.
I finally went to my postpartum visit today, ummm 4 weeks late, and I am down 20lbs from my highest pregnancy weight, so that made me feel good! My next yearly checkup is in December and I'd like to be down to 220. I hope that's an achievable goal for me. If not, that's what I'm striving for anyways ;)

Flab.
Well, it's the weekend and I've actually done well. I had a splurge meal yesterday because I made hamburgers and French fries for dinner. It was delish, and just the "bad" meal I needed. Today I had no problem getting back on the wagon, so I was glad. Sometimes in the past I've had a splurge meal and that has made me just throw in the diet towel, but not today :) I'm feeling super motivated! Exercise wise it's hard because I had to cancel my gym membership. Fortunately my job requires tons of walking all day and we have a track near me that I'm hoping to utilize often. I even have planned to go walk with a friend tonight and let the girls play. Should be a good release :)
I hate my baby belly flab. That's all I have to say about that ;)
I'm excited to do my weekly weigh-in on Wednesday and overall life is crazy, but good. :)

Day One
I survived. ;) I did great with my water intake, planned my meals (only ate that, no "extras") and had good focus. My starting weight is bad, but actually I thought it was going to be worse.
Starting weight: 245.8
Goal: 180
Sorry today is a short one, but I'm typing one handed because I have a sleeping baby boy in the other hand ;)
Here I go again!

Here I go again!
So, now that I have had my son and have no more reason to be a fatty ;) It's time to shed the weight again. I'm setting my goal as 180lbs. and giving myself 9 months to lose it. "9 months on...9months off!" I was going to weigh this morning, but forgot, so I will post weight tomorrow... *scary*.
I'm excited to start the journey again. I was happier and healthier which made me a better mother and that's the best part of it all! Here we go....

December Mama's Biggest Loser Challege: Week 1
201.0, down 3.2
*Goal for next week is to see "onederland" again! :)
I'm okay with that. I have been having some strange feelings though. I've been feeling like a "fat girl" again. Kinda like I felt at 258lbs, but now I'm not that big anymore. I remember when I hit 201 (almost 100's) before and I was estatic! Now, I feel a little dissappointed. Like I'm not losing enought weight or its harder to drop pounds as I get smaller, or I've started grad school while Will works the night shift... ugh... I don't know. I still am motivated, but it's weird and I don't know how to describe it or why I am feeling this way. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Anyone felt like this before after a big weight loss?
On to another week! Good luck everyone!

Little Friendly Competition
One of the lovely ladies on my December Mama's board is starting a little 'Biggest Loser' competition on our board. I am so excited about it! :) The weigh-in days will be on Mondays, so I'll just post those here too (so I don't have to have two weigh-in days). We will do it for the month of October and I think it will be fantastic motivation for me!
Today was the first day, so I will count it as my weekly weigh-in: 204.2
I actually know I was down a little more this week, but went to VA to visit my family and had a gooooood birthday dinner ;) So, I'm content that it is atleast a loss.
I also felt AWFUL yesterday, like a 24 hour stomach bug. I was miserable! I'm feeling better today and will make it to the gym this afternoon.
I worked out 5 days this week and did good eating too. It felt really good to "be good" again! Also, Madie loooooves the gym because she gets to play with the other kiddos. It actually gives me more motivation to go because she has such a good time.
On to another week! Hope everyone has a great week full of weight loss!

Groovin'
Went to the gym yesterday and it felt great again! I think I'm actually getting my groove back.
Some of the great feelings are coming back, like how much better I feel when I'm not full of junk food! There are still cravings (that I just caved into for a month) those are hard to not give into right now, but I'm not caving, so that is good to me :)
Plans for today are to do some cleaning, school work, gym and make my favorite Turkey Meatballs! They are soooo delicious! You have to try them Lyndsie's Dr. Pepper Meatballs
I'll try to give an update tonight. Have a great day everyone! Remember, we just have to make one good choice at a time and we will get there! ;)

Difference a month can make.
Holy crap. My weight this morning... 207.4lbs. Wow.
The sad part about it is that I thought it was going to be more than that. It is crazy how much weight I can gain in just a month! But, now I understand how I got so heavy in the first place. If I would have not taken action now I would have ended up in the same boat I was before. I hate that I put myself in this situation, but I'm glad I was smart enough to correct it before it got out of hand again. It atlease gives me hope that I will NEVER go back to the way I was. I may slip up from time to time, but I can never get "that bad" again.
I did head to the gym today and it felt great! :) I'm ready to go again tomorrow and already ready to see my next weigh in on Tuesday!

The beginning... again.
So, today was the day I start my journey again. I did pretty well eating, but we did not make it to the gym as planned. We got out of class late and had to work out dinner and some sitter stuff so we didn't get there. Since today was so hectic, I was okay with just spending time with the fam when we got home. I was atleast satisfied with the fact that I kept up with my water intake and was good with my calories. So, I'll call that a good start :)
Tomorrow is for sure a gym day! :) I'm actually excited! I'm ready to get back in there and get to business ;)
Also, tomorrow I will weigh in for the first time in weeks... ugh. But gotta swallow that pill at some point!
I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

The Truth.
The truth is... I have reverted back to all of my bad, awful, no good habits for the past month. I know I have gained too much weight back and enough is enough (I actually haven't weighed in weeks, because I'm too scared to see what it says). I think my other posts about getting back on track were me trying to convince myself that it was time, when really I was enjoying being a screw loose. Now, I'm sick of it. I'm READY to get back to it. I'm going to update the blog and get a clean slate. I'll post my starting weight tomorrow (ugh.) and my weigh in days will be Tuesdays.
It's going to be interesting trying to figure out how to work in the gym with my new grad school, work, and Will's night shift. BUT, the past two weeks I've been using the excuse "I'm just so busy", but when I was working full time I found time to do it, so there is.no.excuse.
Please don't be ashamed when I post my start weight. One thing that has bothered me is that so many people have told me that I have been motivational and inspiring, but yet I fell off. :( That bothers me that I may have let people down. So, please know I'm a typical girl that struggles with food and my emotions on a daily basis. I'm trying me best to get back to my healthy lifestyle (which I actually prefer).
My 30th birthday was great! And it was awesome to have pictures of myself celebrating as the "new me" :) That will be something that I will always cherish and that was a huge reason I started me journey in the first place. Setting goals seems to work for me. Meaning I need to set a weight and date in which to reach it. If I just say "I'm going to lose 10lbs" it makes me be lazy about it. I'm not as consistent, which does not make it a lifestyle change--which it my main goal. So, my new goal is reach 178lbs. by January 3, 2011. One year after the start of my journey.
Please send good vibes this way :)

Fell off the wagon and bumped my head...
Most people probably fall off and jump right back on, but OH NO, not me... I go hard or go home HAHA! Meaning, I fell off the weight loss wagon...BAD.
Will and I have moved to a house and I've started graduate school, so the last 3 weeks have been insane to say the least. Hence, why I haven't blogged. We ate out a ton, didn't go to the gym at all, and gained weight.... I mean more than 5lbs of weight. :( At first I was really bummed about it, felt like I had let myself down (and I still do feel that way a little), but then I had to make myself realize that this is LIFE and I'm making a LIFE change. Things happen, my weight may fluxuate etc. I have a "new" lifestyle now vs. my laid back "I've got nothing to do, so I might as well go to the gym" lifestyle. I need to figure out how to get back on the wagon with my NEW lifestyle. Grad school is busy and a TON of work, and the move was extremely busy, but now that things are more settled I have a better idea of what I need to do to get back and how to incorporate it back into my everyday life.
Tonight is a good start... no gym, but we are grilling chicken and zuccini on the grill tonight, so I'm exciting about that. I feel like I'm starting this process all over again, but thank GOD I'm not 60lbs heavier ;) So, now it's time.....here we go...

Letting go!
Last week I had "big" ideas of doing all classes etc. to change up my routine... that ended up being a bunch of blah blah blah...
I was feeling a little burnt out, so after taking some advice from some of my December Mama's, I decided I just needed to take time off and "let go". I was feeling bad, but then I gave myself a timeline of a week to chill on the exercise and eat whatever I wanted. So, yesterday was the last day of that and TODAY is back on the wagon. Last night when I went to bed I was telling Will that I felt like crap. It was gross. I WAY over indulged this week, and I hated the way it made me feel. I got all my binge foods out of the way this week, so all of those craving are gone, but yuck, I know now why I always felt so crappy before I lost the weight.
I know I gained some pounds back this week, but I think my mind benefited way more than my body, and that is always a plus! I feel motivated to really get back into my regular routine, and I truly want to get to 188 for my 30th birthday. It would just be such a cool milestone to ring it a new decade of life with a big achievement like that . So, time to keep on truckin.... ;)

I can not tell a lie
My head is not in the game lately.
Since Wednesday I have not worked out an have eaten like crap. Ugh. I planned on doing all classes and Friday I got ready for Body Combat and was running a little late, so I just decided not to go. Ridiculous.
I don't know what is going on with me. I feel like it's harder for me to stay on track lately and I need a kick in my ass. I do think though that I've started to "settle" since I've hit my original goal, and I DON'T WANT TO. Lack of motivation has also been due to seriously having tons of stuff going on this month in my life that makes it harder for me to by a "gym rat" as usual, but it should be NO excuse for me eating like crap. Also, Will and I have decided that we are going to try for #2 :) So, I think my head has been wrapped up in that as well. Ugh, I just made a ton of excuses right? Boo.
I've gotten comfortable in my skin too. I feel SO much better about myself physically, mentally and healthy wise, so I almost wonder if my body and brain are telling me I'm "good" with where I'm at. Part of my thinks I may change my final goal to 188 because I do feel really well about where I'm at right now. I would like to shed those last couple pounds though, and then just maintain. Sheesh. I'm throwing a million ideas around in my head right now.
Now... ALL of this ridiculously random post could be about the fact that Bitch from Hell is here right now, which makes me all bloated and emotional.... who knows.
Okay... for real, if you read all of this I should hug you for making it through it ;) *HUGS*

A week of change...
I'm finally figuring out what exercise schedule works best for my body and for my mental state lol ;) I weigh in on Wednesdays, so the past couple of weeks I've been "taking off" Wednesday and Thursday from the gym. That has seemed to be working well for me, because sometimes one day off doesn't make me excited to get back in the gym, but two does. It gives me enough separation from the gym to relax and recoup mentally for the week ahead.
So, it's back to the gym today and I decided that I'm going to switch things up this week. One, because it's good for your body and two, because I think some of the machines are starting to "bore" me a little now that I'm getting closer to my ultimate goal. Because of these things, I'm going to do a week of just classes, no machines. II'll squeeze in my regular ab workout, but thats it. I think this will give me a chance to try some things I never have before. I've always wanted to try Pilates, but never did because it "didn't fit with my cardio training", so this week I have no excuses :) I'm really excited about this week and I actually think it will be a challenge for me *not* to hop on a cardio machine. I'll keep ya'll posted.
Tonight will be Body (kickmyfreakin'ass) Combat. The girl who teaches this is a freakin' B.E.A.S.T, so prayers would be great ;)
Also, no scale for me this week. I'm usually a scale junkie and weigh everyday, but I will not weigh myself until Wednesday this week. I think if I weigh and don't see changes that I'm going to tell myself that they classes "aren't good enough" and will hop on a machine. I *really* need to start weaning myself from the scale and focus more on how I'm feeling in my skin rather than what the scales tells me I should feel ;)
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Wednesday Weigh-in: 8/17/11
Today: 193.6, down 2.2
Slow and steady wins the race right?
Again, not a huge loss, but I've been consistent in the past weeks. I've made a new small goal and that is to get to 188.2 (70lbs. lost) by my birthday. That would be 10lbs. more than what I wanted to achieve when I started, so I think that would be cool.
Also, I've noticed this week, that eating right and wanting to get exercise is part of my everyday life routine. I don't even *think* about making better choices, they kinda just happen, it's neat. I was also thinking, I'm really ready to be to the point where I just have to maintain. I'll be so excited to reach my final goal so that I can be one of *those people* who have reached their goal and now they are trying to maintain ;) Hopefully, that won't be too far in my future lol
I also added 4 more "Thoughts per Pound" to go with my four extra pounds of weight loss.
